The KSC SMO acts as the Center's focal point for program and project management. In performing this function, the SMO shall provide leadership and technical expertise to facilitate program/project management standardization and compliance with NPR 7120.5B, NASA Program and Project Management Process & Requirements across Center product lines and core competencies.
Primary roles and responsibilities of the SMO in this core functional area include the following:
- KSC Center Program/Project Management Policy & Guidelines Oversight
- KSC Program & Project Consultation
- Program & Project Management Development and Certification
- KSC Earned Value Focal Point
- Kennedy Program & Project Management Council Secretariat
- New Business Board Secretariat
- Program and Project Management Tools & Techniques Development
- Independent Assessment of PAPAC Projects
