SMO CONSULTATION
 
The SMO shall provide consultation to KSC programs and projects as requested in the field of engineering cost estimation, life cycle cost analysis, systems engineering, software engineering, risk management, and business/economic analysis.

This effort shall span the life cycle of a program/project from formulation, implementation, evaluation, and disposal activities of the program/project. The SMO shall provide guidance as requested by the program/project manager to help KSC programs/projects in developing products and documentation to support the NASA PAPAC process per NPR 7120.5B.

To request SMO support, the Program/Project Manager shall contact the SMO and request the desired service. The following parameters should be identified: type of support requested and FTE estimate of task or duration of support and life cycle phase of the program/project. Refer to KDP-P-2389 for complete process flow.
