The following list outlines the primary responsibilities of the Office of the Chief Engineer (CE). The KSC Systems Management Office will provide support to the KSC CE as requested.
- Support the HEDS Office of the Chief Engineer (Code M).
- Support the NASA Office of the Chief Engineer (Code D).
- Act as primary KSC contact to the IPAO at Langley.
- KSC representative to the Engineering Management Council.
- KSC representative to the Program & Project Management Council.
- Support Agency wide boards and councils as directed.
- Support other Center initiatives as directed by the KSC Center Director.
- Ensures engineering excellence through policy, standards, criteria, tools, training and evaluation.
- Acts as a principle advisor to the KSC Center Director in the area of engineering and as such evaluates Programs/Projects for engineering merit.
